water wells

One of the proven methods for effective church planting in the villages is to meet some of their physical needs first. Digging a water well in the community where we plan to build a church creates a receptive attitude. The correlation of water for the body and water for the soul is a great way to introduce Christ.

We have drilled wells in five villages as of July 2026:

  • KapoetaThis was our first compound in South Sudan, and we needed clean drinking water for the school, clinic, and church. The well was one of the first endeavors of Hope4Sudan.
  • Torit–This was one of our initial ventures, but the church had to be closed several years ago when war was raging within the country. Within the past year, this site has been refurbished and reopened.
  • Kaikunyng–This village is home to a 200- member church. It has a church building and a water well.
  • Kalipusi–Our missionary, Gregory McClerkin, oversees this congregation of 120. This village is also the site of our second healthcare clinic and features an on-site water well.
  • Napotpot–This is our newest church-planting project in South Sudan. The well is now complete and fills a great need in the village.

Please pray for continued favor in each of these villages. Also pray for funding for more village wells. The cost is more than $17,000 per well, so we need your help. To give, go to our secure website, click here.
